In the product

If you have Acronis True Image 2021/2020/2019/2018/2017/2016 already installed in Windows, you can view the serial number on the Account page.

If you have Acronis True Image 2021/2020/2019/2018/2017/2016 installed on Mac, you can view the serial number under Acronis True Image -> Change Serial Number.

Acronis True Image 2015

If you have Acronis True Image 2015 already installed, you can view the serial number on the License page.

Acronis True Image 2014, Acronis Disk Director Home, older versions

If you have Acronis True Image 2014 already installed, you can view the serial number on the About page along with the build number.

  2. Navigate to Settings -> Licenses.
  3. Click the resource to view licenses and the devices they are tied to. Only available for perpetual licenses.

You can view the serial number in Help -> About . Management Console should be connected to Agent in order to see the serial number for this Agent.

In the account

Serial numbers of Subscription licenses are currently not displayed in the account, please contact Acronis Customer Central for assistance.

We always recommend registering your serial number at the Acronis website, so that it will not be lost.

Here is how you can view your registered licenses in your Acronis account:

  1. Log in to your Account.
  2. In Products, locate the product you want to find the serial number for.
  3. Click the resource covered by the license:
  4. Serial number is displayed:
  5. You can select and copy it, paste it into the product to activate the license.

If you purchased the product in Acronis Online Store, you can also retrieve your serial number using Serial Number Auto-Recovery Tool.

In the invoice

If you purchased multiple licenses for Enterprise products, only the first license key will be in the .pdf license certificate. The remaining licenses should be in a separate .txt file.

If you purchased your Acronis product online, then you should have received your serial number in an automatic E-mail that was sent to the E-mail address that you provided at the time of the purchase.

(!) You can find your product serial number for online purchased Acronis products in your account at My Orders. See Acronis Account: My Orders.
(!) The automatic E-mail comes from CleverBridge (cleverbridge.com) or DigitalRiver(https://www.digitalriver.com/), which are the official payment service providers for Acronis. If you cannot find the E-mail, please make sure it is not in your spam or junk folder. If the E-mail has been deleted, please contact Acronis Customer Central as described under More information.

If you purchased your Acronis product offline at a retail store, then the location of the serial number depends on the package:

  • Boxed product, that consists of the CD, White CD Sleeve, Quick Start Guide. - The serial number sticker is affixed to the back of White CD Sleeve;
  • DVD Amaray Case, that consists of the CD and Quick Start Guide. - The serial number sticker is affixed inside the DVD case on right hand side. Directly above where the CD is held in place.

    If you still cannot find the serial number, please contact Acronis Customer Central as described under More information. Please be aware that you may need to purchase Service Handling Fee if a serial number can not be retrieved from Acronis database: Service Handling Fee.

Boxed versions of Acronis True Image are shipped with a 14 to 16 digits activation key instead of a full 64 digits product serial number. You need to obtain the full 64 digits serial number before activating the product. On the machine with Internet connection, follow these steps. Then provide the full serial number in your Acronis True Image and activate the product as described below.

If you still cannot find your serial number, then please contact Acronis Customer Central with reference to this article. Please include all possible information that you may have about your purchase:

  • Order ID;
  • Scanned copy of the receipt or invoice.

Method 2. Locate and open the log files

  1. Navigate to:

  2. Sort the logs by date modified (descending).
  3. Select the log for the respective operation for the appropriate date:

    tools_[date-time].log - Tools and utilities operations
    MediaBuilder-[GUID].log - Media Builder operations

Method 1. Viewing backup logs through the Console app

Using Console as log viewer is convenient as it gives quick access to all other logs that may be related and useful in troubleshooting: e.g. system logs.

  1. Launch the native macOS app for viewing logs of the system and from applications. You can find it either under Applications - Utilities, or using the Spotlight search: click the magnifying glass at the right top corner, type Console, press Return
  2. Once in Console app, expand the section /Library/Logs. Do not confuse it with ~/Library/Logs
  3. Navigate to Acronis - ti_demon
  4. Tree items with names, starting with ti_demon_ represent backup runs history (backup logs)
  5. Logs' file names also include the date and time of when the backup task was started
  6. Look throught the offered list or see just the most recent ti_demon_ items to review the backup history or find the details of a backup failure

Method 2. Locating backup log files in Finder

Backup log files are written in plain text files which can be viewed in any text viewer or editor.

  1. Open Finder window or select Go - Go to Folder... from the top menu
  2. Navigate to /Library/Logs/Acronis/ti_demon or paste the path into 'Go to the folder' field, click Go to open the folder
  3. Files with names, starting with ti_demon_ represent backup runs history (backup logs)
  4. Logs' file names also include the date and time of when the backup task was started
  5. Sort the files by date or name
  6. Look throught the most recent files to review the backup history or find the details of a backup failure. Log files are in plain text format and can be viewed in any text viewer or editor.
